What do we need for the link to Alki.

Secondary Communication

FRS radios should be able to reach Alki. If not, we can always fallback to cellular networks.

Picking a channel should be done when we set up. There will most likely be interference.

Hardware Needed

  1. Tripod
  2. Antenna
  3. Laptop/Card/Pigtail - act as router
  4. Access Point
  5. Power... Who has a generator?
  6. Power Strips
  7. Cat5, Hub -- 8-port switch --MattBlank Cat5/5 Port hub --PeterYorke Old (but working!) 16 port 10Mbit Hub --MattCohn

  8. FM Stereo Radio, with output (headphone out acceptable) to connect to laptop for streaming

I'm pretty sure I can cover everything here other than generator... Anyone have an Invertor or a small generator?

I've got an inverter for 12V batteries. Anyone have a bunch of 12 volt car batteries handy?

I have a 400w inverter and power strip if anyones got a car battery, (or several) i have all neccesary cabling. and 3 frs radios

I have a 140W inverter, an 18AH battery, 2 Motorola FRS radios, and an 8-port switch.
