This is too bad. I live in Michigan. I join lists like these (NYC BSD
Users Group, for instance) because of the great face-to-face behavior
of the mailing lists, and off-topic discussion that is not allowed on
official mailing lists.

I browsed the blog... ...sorry, I guess I'm just a technical type of
hacker... opinions, pictures, and stories don't concern me. Organized
information does.

I joined this list because of the great wireless work I have seen in
the Seattle community from the internet perspective. The Seattle
wireless wiki has some fantastic information. I was especially
provoked to begin looking around when I saw the SenaoCard article, how
very informative for firmware revisions and chipset details!

Unfortunately, I can't find anything outside of direct links because
the wiki is now full of spam. And from the looks of it, it has been
totally abandoned (provoked by spam?).

It is disheartening that technical users such as yourselves did not
see the great wealth of information and education you gave the world
through the very internet you are dissecting and tinkering with.
Abandoned because of spam... are you that weak?

If I were a Seattle member I would have started a webserver on a home
account and hosted and coded a wiki for the group. Used cvs and given
out shell accounts at meetings and encouraged to document what you
have learned.

There are a thousand ears out here, you fellas have a lot of
experience to share. Its too bad you have gone so local.

Think about it, here you are dissecting networks, but not utilizing
the very network to share your results! It makes my stomach tighten...
