I know the bandwidth might not be there but if you can get one of the
cellular provider's EVDO, EDGE, etc. connections there, that might work.  It
probably won't be anywhere near 500Kbps however but better than nothing.
You could try some sort of aggregation if you can get service.  Typically
you'll see ~100Kbps up and ~500Kbps down, unless you're in a prime location
and they have their newer megabit service in place.

Another possibility is a couple (or more) WiFi relays to the nearest town
with bandwidth.  Yet another option might be a TV station to do a remote
link maybe in conjunction with a "sister station".  And another could be a
ground station firing up to a helicopter hovering high enough to relay the
signal.
  
We used to do RA feeds over ISDN 2B (~128K) with fairly good results.  I
think the codec makes all the difference.  

If all else fails, tape the event a drive the tapes "quickly" to someplace
that can air them.
