Hi everyone!
I thought it would be a good idea to take a few minutes and let you all know
about some of the things that we have been up to lately.
Network Map
SeattleWireless has a map now! Head on over to http://map.seattlewireless.net/
and check it out. If you have been thinking about putting up a node, you can
find yourself on the map and add your location to our database so other people
that look at the map know where you are. If you think you can see someone,
get in touch with them and convince them to put up a node and link to you!
There's also a Google Earth link at the bottom-right corner of the page. If you
have Google Earth installed, click it to view the network in 3d.
HackNight
As mentioned on the list earlier, HackNight is now 5:00 PM every Wednesday at
the RedLine cafe. Lately people have been bringing some pretty cool projects
with them to show off and work on. It's a lot of fun in general, RedLine has
lots of space and good food. If you are thinking about participating in the
SeattleWireless project, this is a great way to learn more and meet the people
that have been keeping it going for so long (not me :).
Always check the EventCalendar (http://seattlewireless.net/EventCalendar) to
make sure that we don't make any last-minute location/time changes.
Blog Planet
We also have a blog planet now! It's a great way to keep track of what's new
with SeattleWireless, as well as what the people involved with it are up to.
Head on over to http://planet.seattlewireless.net/ and add the RSS feed to your
reader today!
If you'd like to have your blog added to the planet, show up at HackNight and
let someone know.
Jabber Chat
There's a jabber chatroom now that a few people have been using. The room
name is "chat" and the server is "conference.seattlewireless.net".
A list of jabber clients for all operating systems is avaliable at:
http://www.imfederation.com/software.html
That's all for now!
Regards,
Eric Butler <eric at extremeboredom.net>
