Can get started with existing home networking?

First of all, I am impressed by the possibilites of a community network and
I can't resist admire the folks who started this.  Hats off to you!

I think the wiki website is scary to a common man, without networking
background. The wiki has too much info to be understood by a curious person
who wants to give a shot. In my opinion, an average internet user has a
simple home network with a wireless router, cable/DSL internet connection
and Windows XP OS. Can this set up be used/extended to join SWN?

I think this should be the second paragraph (right after explaining what is
SWN) of the first page. If you can have the information to lure the common
man, its easy for SWN to take off. I promise, I will get on and wil make
atleast two more to get on the bus.
