My point was more that it will continue to be that way, as long as people like 
us work for (and buy from) people like them, especially while using 'there 
are no alternatives' as validation.

If enough of us were to go without, wouldn't the market create a solution for 
us? A competing product or producer, perhaps? Couldn't we just create a 
solution for ourselves? Sure we could.

Don't worry, we're all at fault - no one wants to be a martyr (read: be 
without carrier-class broadband).
