So what Todd, you are forever tilting at wind mills.. how do you change things by tweaking the flow of current momentums? You cannot spend 10 million to advertise your position.. with the hope people will adopt your belief system and place it above their selfish interests.
Some tings are well under way that cannot be turned back by anyone or any administration even if it had 90% public approval.. We are a global dependent society... the rules can be tweaked to make the game fairer for average idiots like myself...
I believe in free enterprise an the end to economic and political tyranny of monopolies such as oil interest, and the abysmal medical establishment. But I see a partial solution is to open the monopoly to competition from across our borders and overseas... let people have a choice where to buy drugs and medical services... if the screwed up American medical monopoly can't fix things on their own (yea right) then let them compete with qualified providers from Mexico, Canada, India, Brazil, or anywhere any company or individual wants to go to buy medications and services. Corporations are largely free to move jobs, engineering, business around the world, time to become true to their supposed beliefs.
American has to be remade from both sides or our slide to a second-rate power from our lone super power status will be accelerated. Big businesses face some of he same problems individual like myself face: rising costs of essentials like medical care are bankrupting us: GM is impacted as well as the corner grocer.
If we are free to export jobs overseas, then we should require fair trade wages from foreign suppliers as well. We should not support slave labor... I say that even though I consult with companies in China who use low cost labor. All should be made to play fair as much as we can caste the rules.

Yes, you're right. Almost every big business is guilty of the same thing. I
think the keyword here is 'guilty'. Of course, doing without, or paying more
to patron one of the 'other' businesses, is absurd.

Paying more for a local provider is certainly not absurd. To the
contrary, if individuals follow only a path of least resistance,
individually, then crime and organized exploitation predominates
in the society. It is child's play for a gang or organization to
take over. It took great sacrifice to establish our system of law
which Bush violates. It took great sacrifices by labor unions
to win labor rights that we enjoy. There are countless examples
why you WANT to sacrifice, to stop Clearwire.
By the way, the nonprofit sector is like 10% of the labor force
and americans give $300 billion of charitable contributions/year.
It really is amazing. People are a bout more than money i guess.
Gary said, "other big businesses are guilty of the same thing.."
but McCaw was the ringleader in bringing Bush to the region.
McCaw and the 200 cronies at his house, are literally the
cause of Bush's actions and policies. Bush is an agent
for his particular supporters.
McCaw is so heavily tied to his Republican business network
that consumers' privacy and security on his Clearwire internet
service may be compromised. They know every bit of your
communications, who you're connecting with, and exactly where
you're located, and it's all in easily analyzed data formats,
rather than voice or video. That is a lot of power and the Republicans
have every intention to exploit that to the max.
Todd
