Weatherproofing a laptop

Probably the best bet is to put it into a completely sealed box and then put
a sun shade over it. If you want to keep it up there for while, the
elements will kill it eventually if there is ventilation as condensation,
rain, sand, ice, bugs, dust etc will get inside. I am not sure the thermals
on the laptop, but this is how we have had the most luck with using indoor
gear outside, even when we pass the recommended temps.

Subject: Weatherproofing a laptop

I have a laptop computer that will be turned on 24/7 on the roof of my
building. Anyone know the best approach to shield this laptop from the
elements? (ie, rain and heat). I live in los Angeles so it doesn't rain that
much, although I'm concerned the summer heat might cook the laptop.

Any ideas? I'm thinking about putting it in a cooler of some sort, but I'm
not sure if there's enough ventilation. I'm also concerned about rain.

It's not radically different. Just radically better.
