You can get a lot of HPC devices for $100-150, which support various
cellular data access cards. I have used a HP Jornada 720 for quite a
while with bluetooth and wifi cards. I have used both a T610 and a Nokia
6620 for cellular internet access using a bluetooth card. You can also
use a number of GPRS/EDGE data cards with it. HPCs make excellent
platforms for in the field data entry. They have very long battery life,
instant on-off, wide screen and qwerty keyboards.
