Prepaid mobile in the UK

Well - I use orange - www.orange.co.uk

The other mail providers are t-mobile, O2, Vodafone and virgin mobile.
There is a provider called 3 - but they more or less push video calls and
the like.

They are all on the net so I am sure there is one that would suit.

Has anyone had any experience with prepaid mobile providers in the UK?
 I am looking for a carrier with cheap US minutes, and I really dont know
where to start.
