Google WIFI and their locations

Hello!
Has anyone on this list managed to get their systems online using the
tools that Google claims to have made available via
http://wifi.google.com ?

It seems they have deliberately made themselves unaware of the fact
that despite the company having a presence here in NYC, (They just
moved to larger quarters around the end of last year) they continue to
believe that only in California would anyone want it. I made a point
of contacting their help desk, and explaining the illogic of that
point, but they decided not to properly explain it.

And in fact they make a point of wanting us to read and understand
their press release on their deal with SF, and Earthlink. (Wasn't that
discussed and practically torn to shreds on this list?)
