StarOS. Not your friend.

StarOS, a ‘proprietary’ OS for wireless devices is not just an expensive alternative to Linux, it’s a quagmire of stolen code. Not only is Valemont ripping off a copywritten work (SYSLINUX), it is infringing on GPL code (orinoco_cs). Jim Thompson breaks it down on the dev list.

In addition to the diffs, Jim has firsthand experience with Valemont code at Vivato, and was told to keep quiet. I’ve known Jim for years now, and I think that’s a pretty steep order.
