Sidekick

So this is my first post from my new sidekick2 and I have to say, I’m surprised by how nice the user experience is. After my 2 hours of activation nightmare (I don’t blame danger for that), it all just works. A prerequisite for any new phone, I have already fired off a couple of photos to 16photos and for the most part, I am used to the keyboard (a day of IM will do that fast). It is so great to get away from t9.

Missing Sync (29.95) and Danger’s SSH (9.99) were totally neccessary purchases, but are probably the only pieces of software that I will buy unless I am just unaware of the killer hiptop app, which I’m sure someone out there will fill me in on.

Did they ever add java to the sidekick?
Let us know what you think of Tmobile service in the area.

Sweet, welcome to the club. I have been really happy with mine. I can’t wait to see the SideKick 3.

T-Mobile service in Seattle is pretty good. I’ve been a customer since it was Voicestream. I had work-supplied phones for a couple years in there that were AT&T (TDMA and GPRS), and it was just horrible.

I’m not really sure *what* the phone runs actually. I sort of don’t care. It works for what I need it to do. My old Nokias could run any third party Apps I installed on them, but after a while, it just kind of rotted out (like windows). My 6620 started crashing to white screens a while back, and although I was told by everyone at hacknight to send it to some unlock place in TX, I noticed Ken was actually *happy* with his phone, it had a keyboard, and it worked for what he wanted it to. So I got one.

I guess I was wrong about the software though. I had to buy tetris.
